Week 3
September 14 - September 18, 2015
Week three has been nothing short of crazy! While the city has been busy preparing for the arrival of Pope Francis, I’ve been busy finding good brunch restaurants, checking out museum exhibits, attending street fairs, and boating along the Potomac River with friends. Having had some experience with the harsh reality of winter in Boston, I’m doing my best to take advantage of the beautiful weather here while it lasts. It really is a hard life, here in DC.
At BRAVO! this week, Monday through Thursday was a little bit of a blur—but it can be essentially summed up as a couple Starbucks trips, a handful of uber rides, and an even larger number of client meetings. Friday, however, was our first event of the semester and it was definitely a night to remember!
The Hirshhorn After Hours concert took place at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, which if you haven’t been, I highly suggest visiting. The architecture of the building is enough to amaze you. Madison, Blair, and I spent the night working registration, checking ID’s—which I’m obviously, qualified for—among other tasks.
The night went on without a hitch and Tycho (the musical talent for the night) and his mob of 2,000ish fans danced the night away—or at least until the midnight noise curfew. Meanwhile, I spent the rest of my night hiding behind my camera lens, taking in the scene and admiring all of the hard work that the BRAVO! team put into this event over the past couple of months (shout-out to Nancy, Lacey, and Madison for putting together an incredible event!).
As the next week starts up, we’re getting busy preparing for the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Mautner Project for Whitman Walker Health this coming Friday (yes, back-to-back Friday events!). The candy orders and disco balls are already starting to fill our office in preparation, so it should definitely be an exciting event.
