Welcome to The Blair D.C. Project, Blair Guilfoile's weekly blog about her experience being a fall intern for BRAVO!. We love our intern blogs and hope you enjoy following Blair!
Week 14
November 30 - December 4, 2015
So this is it – my last day in DC, my last day at BRAVO! and my last intern blog post.
Those who know me really well know that I hate goodbyes. I can’t stand them. Whenever I visit my best friend in California, at the end of the break I’ll normally give her a quick hug and say “see ya tomorrow!” just like we would in high school. I would rather peace out like I was going to see someone in two days even if it’s really in two years.
So I don't want to use this blog post to say goodbye, but rather to say thanks. Thank you Nancy for giving me a chance and taking us interns under your wing. Thank you BRAVO! Team (aka Bryan, Kensey, and Lacey) for showing us the ropes of the event world. Thank you to my fellow interns Madison, Tracy, and Ashley, for the good company and excellent entertainment on those long bus and metro commutes. A BIG thank you to my parents for supporting me throughout this whole experience and for encouraging me to go after my goals.
And finally thank you Washington DC. You gave me the adventure of a lifetime.
P.S
For those of you who have been following my blog for the last few months and are wondering what is next for me, I’ll give you the rundown. I’m taking the next few weeks off to spend some quality time with some family and friends both in Texas, California. I’ll also be traveling to Costa Rica for a week! (Basically I’m going to be living out of a suitcase for the next month) Then I will return for my spring semester at TCU where I will be interning at TCU’s student strategic communication agency. After that things are up in the air! If there’s one thing that my event planning internship has taught me is things rarely always go 100% according to plan! So for now I’m just going to live in the moment and see where life takes me.
